December of 2020 Newsletter!
Each month, the Agave Home Loans team will share a few market and company updates. We appreciate your continued support and hope this newsletter can provide you value, or at the very least… entertainment! What started as two mortgage loan originators working out of a house pre-pandemic, has transformed into an office of 12 talented folks striving to improve what can be a tedious home financing process. Our company is on pace to help close loans for more than 40 families this month “a-loan”. We’re helping our clients accomplish home ownership through purchase loans while putting substantial savings back into the pockets of our refinance clients.

Thank you for taking a couple short minutes to read our newsletter. Doug Wang, our COO, and myself made the leap into starting this business just over a year ago.Starting a business from scratch, especially a mortgage business full of compliance and licensing fun, sometimes feels like wandering through a large room with the lights turned off. On the other side of the room is stability, sanity, success, and most importantly a positive impact on the clients and partners we work alongside. At the beginning, the room is pitch black and the ground feels like a slip-n-slide. Each time you slip, you learn a better way of staying on your feet. This is one of our company’s philosophies – failing forward.Over time, with the help of peers, agents, new hires, clients, mistakes, and wins that guide you through the room, the lights get brighter and the slip-n-side subsides to concrete. We’re so appreciative of the hard work our team members have put in, their willingness to adapt during incredibly uncertain times, and to all the family, friends, clients, and partners that helped us get to where we are now. If this business was an Agave (Agave plug), we’d be at the stage of just beginning to sprout through the dirt.We have much to learn and many to help. We hope that you stay tuned and are a part of our journey!- Marshall Gottlieb, CEO

Jobless Claims jumped to 742k, up from 711k last week – the first increase in five weeks. October restaurant sales dropped month over month on a seasonally adjusted basis for the first time since the end of spring lock downs. Interest rates are still hovering at historical lows. We’re currently in one of the hottest housing markets of the last 15 years.
